Animal Management BTEC National Diploma Who is the course for? This course has been designed for students who enjoy working with animals and would like an exciting and responsible career in the animal industry. What is the course about? This exciting and extremely popular course incorporates all aspects of animal management. It is delivered through practical and classroom based activities, including a varied array of site visits. Will I need anything else? Outdoor clothes, wellingtons or sturdy boots. How long & often do I attend? You will attend 18 hours a week at the Cronton campus, one day a week at the animal unit in Croxteth Park, and one day a week at a work placement of your choice. How will I be assessed? Grading will depend on the production and quality of a portfolio of work for each unit completed. There are no examinations. What opportunities will this lead to? You could progress to BSc Hons degree courses in Veterinary Nursing, Animal ScienceBehaviour or Zoology. You could enter employment as a trainerkeeper with organisations such as the Dogs Trust or work within kennelscatteries, equine centres, zoos, animal production, visitor attractions, government organisations (DEFRA, VLA, trading standards) or charitable organisations.
