BTEC Introductory Certificate in Health & Social Care (with ESOL) Code BCFI Centre Queens Park Centre Length 1 year - daytime This course is suitable for: 16-19 year olds Adults Duration of course: 1 Year. What does it include? This course is an introduction to health and social care for learners where English is not their first language. The focus of the course will be on encouraging learners to develop their spoken and written skills in English through the medium of a basic health and social care course. You will also have the opportunity to gain a certificate in basic Food Hygiene and basic First Aid. You will be able to attend skilled career advice workshops and be provided with an Action Plan that focuses on your future progression needs. What do I need to get onto it? You do not need to have any formal qualifications, however, you will be required to sit an Initial Assessment test. The results should indicate that you are able to work/study at entry level 3. Where does it lead? This course can lead onto a BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in Health and Social Care (level 2) or an NVQ at level 2 in Health and Social Care. Where is it based?
