Course Description

Course covers the fundamentals of construction (see key topis & handout for full breakdown) Provide aspiring/ practicing Technicians with a nationally recognised vocationally specific award Enable candidates to enter employment Map to National Occupational Standards and NVQ units Requirements: Students must be at least 16 years of age. Should have education to GCSE standard D-G, or NVQ Level 1 or a GNVQ Foundation qualification. The course contains Many Activities which require Internet Access. Although not required to study the course, it is advisable that students have Internet access. If this is not possible - Advise students about free public internet access via i.e.UK Public Librarys. Hours of Study: 240 External Exam Information: There is no exam. Students complete four assignments which are sent to the tutor for marking. This course leads to a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Construction. Additional Exam Fees: ?74.70 - payable within 28 days of receipt of materials. Recommended Reading: Reading references given in Study Guides Student Profile: Male - Technical - Those working in industry wishing to gain recognised qualification - those wanting to join the industry.
