Course Description

ION Diploma Course is upgradeable to BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Science The University of Bedfordshire?s Division of Science is further building its relationship with ION and its students. It has developed a level 6 BSc programme to enable ION graduates holding the ION Diploma and its accompanying Foundation Degree in nutritional therapy to obtain a BSc with Honours in Nutritional Science. This will allow ION graduates to compete successfully with Nutritional Science graduates of other universities. In addition, previous graduates from ION, who completed the course before the University accredited it, may also be eligible to undertake this one- year degree to convert their study into a BSc with Honours. The Division is intending to offer the BSc in Nutritional Science as a Distance Learning programme, which will allow students to complete more of the programme by independent study at home. Even so, at present, the BSc requires only one day?s attendance at the University for two 15-week periods each year for a full-time student. The students undertake much of the actual study in their own time. Students can also study part-time, or take single modules as part of their Continuing Professional Development, and thus progress at their own rate.
