BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour - part-time top-up degree This two year part-time, top-up course is designed for students interested in developing and applying research and diagnostic techniques in aspects of animal behaviour, training and pet behaviour counselling. The aim is to provide students with the essential knowledge required by animal behaviourists and pet behaviour counsellors (companion animals). The content covers the knowledge elements of certification as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour. Course features include: The application of animal behaviour science and theory including the domestication of animals The promotion of animal welfare and the relationship between humans and animals Opportunities to observe consultations Students undertake a behavioural study the results of which will be analysed and interpreted Entry Requirements: HNDFoundation Degree or other Level 5 qualification in a suitable subject with at least two years' professional experience in the field. Progression: Masters degree in Animal Behaviour Flexible Options: This is a modular course delivered through a series of eight block weeks over two years. In addition, students will need to complete assignments, do outside reading and participate in on-line forums and discussions. Students will need access to suitable animals to study their behaviour.
