Course Description

The aim of the Degree is to equip learners with both theoretical and Practical attributes underpinning Health and Social Science practice. The BSc Health and Social Science Degree is designed an honours degree for those interested in working within the health and social science sector. Through a mix of taught and online sources, it will provide the opportunity for those working in, or aspiring to work in public health or health promotion roles to develop and test their knowledge and skills through the core modules in order to inform their practice and enhance career choices.

Students will be able to make some choices of specialist areas they wish to study through assessment topics that enhance personal development including research skills.

Entry Requirements

At LSST we welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. If you have recently been in education or are returning after a long time, we would be more than happy to consider your application on an individual basis

Application based on Previous qualifications:

If you are applying based on your previous qualifications, you will usually have achieved a minimum of 90 credits from a Level 3 qualification such as A Levels or BTECs

Mature learner 21+:

If you are applying as a mature learner (aged 21+) and do not have the above qualifications, you can apply via our assessment based entry and we will consider your prior experiences (work, voluntary, life and other experiences) that are relevant to the course.

You will be required to complete the following:

1. Provide a CV and Personal Statement

2. English Language Test (with a minimum 70% score, equivalent to IELTS 6.0)

3. Maths Test (Score 50%)

4. Complete a SAPE Assessment (Screening for Accreditation of Prior Experience)

5. Applicants will also be invited to attend an Interview
