Our BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree will give you a combination of technical and practical skills. Preparing you for a rewarding and successful career anywhere in the world.

You will gain exemptions towards professional qualifications with the ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA and CIMA, and AAT depending on your choice of elective modules.

Entry Requirements

Students wishing to study the BSc Accounting and Finance course will require 120 minimum tariff points through the following qualifications:

GCSE

  • Minimum grade 4/C in English Language and Maths or equivalent

A-Level

  • BBB or equivalent or
  • A minimum of two full A-levels and a maximum of four subjects being completed
  • General Studies is excluded from the above

BTEC Extended Diploma

  • DDM

  • A preference for a business related pathway, although others will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Access to HE Diploma

  • 60 credits overall including 45 at level 3

  • All level 3 credits must be at distinction or merit grade and equate to a minimum of 120+ UCAS tariff points

  • A preference for a business related pathway, although others will be considered on a case by case basis

International Baccalaureate Diploma

  • 30 points

  • Higher Level grades minimum of 5, 5, 5

AAT

Level 3 must be accompanied by

  • A maximum of three other tariff qualifications (e.g. A-levels) to equate to the required equivalent overall UCAS tariff points of 120.
  • Appropriate professional experience

Level 4

  • Will be considered via the Accreditation of Prior Learning route for entry onto Year 2 (plus two modules from Year 1)

ACCA

  • Exam passes with ACCA may enable entry part way through the programme

  • If you have completed ACCA AB-FM (previously known as F1-F9), you will be eligible to join entry points throughout the programme

Other

We will consider applicants who have:

  • Recognised qualifications in combination which equate to a minimum of 120+ UCAS tariff points
  • A recognised and equivalent vocational, industry or professional qualification
  • A recognised and equivalent qualification (examinations and experience) and apply following the Accredited Prior Learning procedure

English entry requirements for international students

If English is not your first language and you do not hold an honours degree that was delivered in English, you will be required to provide proof of your ability – for reading, writing, listening and speaking in English.

The minimum entry requirements are an overall IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, with no components lower than 5.5. For details of other accepted qualifications, please click here.

If you have an overall IELTS entry score of 5.5 or equivalent, with a minimum of 5.5 in writing, you will have to attend a Pre-Sessional English course. This will help you achieve the exit score at 6.0 overall - with no components lower than 5.5.

If you have the minimum overall IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, with a minimum of 5.5 in any component, you will be required to attend our In-Sessional Academic Skills classes. This takes place during the first term of studies at no additional cost.
