BSc (Hons) Equine Studies (Behaviour and Nutrition) UCAS Code D334 Option: BEH Duration&Mode 3 years FT Typical Offer: BTEC National Diploma MPP OCR National Extended Diploma (18 Units) P2 Irish Leaving Certificate CCCC Scottish Highers 190 - 240 points International Baccalaureate 24 points Preferred Subjects Biology or other science to A2 level Postgraduate Qualifications Students on this course will be given the opportunity to progress to a relevant Masters programme in the Postgraduate School. Course Content This programme enables students to follow a course of study offering a range of practical skills relevant to the equine industry and allows students to select a range of practical modules which are equitation-based, stud-based or a combination of the two. The course offers the opportunity for students to pursue applied aspects of equine management, and the practical and electronic technologies currently in use in the equine industry. In addition, the Behaviour and Nutrition option in this programme will allows student to study modules in Behaviour, Equine Performance Nutrition, Equine Feed Technology and Applied Behaviour and Welfare which will give them a sound understanding of their chosen subject area and an in-depth knowledge of the latest advances in the field. Fully embedded within the programme are opportunities for students to develop their awareness of the professional, analytical and work skills required for employment in the broader equine sector.
