Course Content This husbandry based degree programme allows students to develop a sound understanding and in-depth knowledge of the essential principles of animal management relevant to the needs of the animal sector. The degree encourages student to develop and demonstrate appropriate intellectual and research skills. It will enable graduates to demonstrate an understanding of the underlying principles associated with animal management and the concepts and ideas that are at the forefront of the discipline communicate with the general public apply management principles and an understanding of the appropriate investigative methods associated with research to the animal sector, demonstrate competence in technical and relevant practical skills and be life long learners who can positively contribute to the animal sector. The core of this course is formed by modules in Anatomy and Physiology, Biological Processes and Animals in Society at level 1, Genetics and Reproduction, Nutrition, Behaviour, Health and Welfare at level 2 and Animal Management Case Studies and Consultancy Project at level 3. In addition, the Companion and Zoo Animals option in this programme allows students to study modules in Animal Management, Applied Companion Animal Management, Animal Trade, Companion and Zoo Animals Nutrition and Feeding and Current Issues in Companion and Zoo Animals.
