Course Description

This course is a one day Lantra Awards course aiming to provide specific Tree Survey and Inspection training at a basic level for contractors, highway engineers, tree wardens, grounds maintenance staff, rangers and other persons of a non-arboricultural background or with limited arboricultural knowledge, to allow them to identify obvious defects from ground level and then to report their findings to a line manager. The course is for any person employed as a tree warden, local authority highway inspector, golf courses, forestry, woodland or arboricultural employee, estate or park rangers, farmers and other landowners or their employees who may have a responsibility for trees in the course of their work. Additionally, this course may be useful for those who work with trees in a voluntary capacity. Courses are held at our training centre based in Dorking, Surrey. Land Skills Training offers excellent facilities. Our training centre/classroom and workshop are brick built with central heating, toilets, wash facilities and disabled access. We have separate tea/coffee/refreshment room. Nearby we have our training site where we carry out all our ?on site? practical training - a 520 hectare (1300 acre) mixture of woodland, grassland and farmland set in the picturesque Surrey Hills. Alternatively if you have a suitable site we can arrange to send an instructor out to you. We have instructors available to help individuals or groups work towards NPTC qualification or Lantra Awards based Integrated Training and Assessment.
