Course Description

The Philosophy with Creative Writing BA will teach you to write and analyse texts and arguments with clarity, rigour, and originality. The Philosophy major will give you the ability to engage with central questions, arguments, theories and texts concerning the world and our place within it. You’ll learn about the logic behind language and meaning, alongside studying topics such as ethics, metaphysics and aesthetics. The Creative Writing minor will enable you to express your philosophical judgements in a variety of forms, from short fiction to poetry to scriptwriting, as has been established practice in the history of philosophy.

Entry Requirements

We would typically require an IELTS score of 7.0 (including 6.5 in each component). If you need a visa to study in the UK, then we can only accept the IELTS test from a UKVI approved centre and not any other English language tests due to the visa requirements set by the UK Government. English language qualifications must have been obtained within two years before your application to NCH.

EU/EEA students who have taken higher level English as part of their secondary school examinations, or who have been educated entirely in English for a minimum of three years before application, may be exempt from these requirements.
