Hospitality and catering Course: Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering Level 1 Code: FCR0061P Duration: 1 Week Location: Various Start Date: FlexibleVarious Interview Required: No Who is the course for? The course covers everything that should be included in an induction programme for new employees, but would also be appropriate for anyone who has an involvement with food, but may not be direct food handlers eg, care staff, nurses, bar staff, delivery drivers. Do I need any formal qualifications? No What will I study on the course? Introduction to Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cleaning, Contamination. How is the course organised? The course consists of a minimum of 3 hours tuition plus examination, typically one half day or one evening. How will my progress be assessed? Through an externally set multiple choice question paper (15 questions). To be sucessful the candidate needs to achieve 1015. Can I gain any extra qualifications while on the course? No What final qualification will I get if I am successful? Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering What can I do after completing this course? CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering. Can I receive any financial support whilst I am studying? Financial support is available and depends on the type of qualification you are studying and whether you are a full time or a part time learner. The Education Maintainance Allowance (EMA) scheme enables eligible learners to receive up to ?30 per week for studying at College, as well as bonus payments of ?100. The Adult Learning Grant (ALG) scheme enables eligible learners (aged 19 or over) to receive up to ?30 per week for studying at College. College Learner Support Funds (LSF) are available and can provide financial support for eligible learners. Payments can be made towards travel to and from College, registered childcare, fee remission and help with course-related costs.
