Course Description

ATHE (The Management Awarding Body) is an awarding body that specializes in offering courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level in Management, Healthcare Management and Travel and Tourism Management. ATHE is regulated by Ofqual, and students can progress onto various UK University programmes on completing any qualification. Course Objectives The ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care is designed to highlight the knowledge and experience needed for managerial careers in various business sectors. The qualification is designed to enable entry onto University programmes in Health and Social Care , and/or progression into management roles in various business sectors. English Language Proficiency : For students whose first language is not English, they should have an English Language Test from the UK Border Agency approved test provider, and have achieved at least CEFR Level B1 in all four components (reading, writing, speaking and listening). Course Progression Routes On successful completion of a Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care there are a number of progression opportunities Learners may progress to : Larger qualifications at the same level e.g. from a Certificate to the Diploma or Extended Diploma in Management or any other related qualification Level 6 qualification such as the ATHE Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care or the ATHE Diploma in Management A Year 3 of a Bachelor’s Degree programme Exemption Policies The Qualifications and Credit framework is based on the principle of credit accumulation and transfer. Within this suite of qualifications, learners have the opportunity to build their achievements from a single unit into a full Diploma. There will be occasions where learners wish to claim recognition of prior learning which has not been formally assessed and accredited. Centres should contact ATHE to discuss the requirements for RPL.

Entry Requirements

All Level 5 students are required to be at least 19 years of age.
