Course Level: Level 3 Entry Requirements: To study at AS Level you need to have passed GCSE Maths at Grade B or above. Please enquire for further advice. Course Description: Sutton Coldfield College offers a wide range of AS/A Levels. Course Content: Module Core 1 This is a non-calculator core module which includes the following topics: ? Advanced Algebra ? Quadratics ? Differentiation ? Graphs and Functions ? Coordinate Geometry Module Core 2 This is a calculator core module which includes the following topics: ? Polynomials ? Integration ? Trigonometry ? Circular Measure ? Sequences and Series ? Exponential and Logarithmic Functions Progression: Mature students who are seeking admission to university will often be required to show that they have undertaken some form of study. A pass in even one A Level will often be enough to demonstrate this. Board: OCR Benefits: AS/A Levels offer students the chance to study a subject to a very high level. A Levels are often a necessary stepping stone for entry into university. Assessment: Each module is externally assessed by means of a single written paper of duration 1 hour and 30 minutes, carrying a total of 72 marks. Core 1 is normally taken in January Core 2 and option module are taken in June Resits Students can resit modules in the January and June examination series during the course, with the highest mark counting towards the qualification.
