Mathematics: AS/A2 Level What you will study As part of this course, you will study algebra and functions, as well as mathematical models, kinematics and vectors in mechanics. AS Level Course C1: Algebra & functions , Coordinate Geometry, Sequences, Differentation, Integration C2:M1: Mathematical models, Vectors in mechanics, Kinematics, Dynamics, Statics of a particle, Moments A2 Level Course C3: Algebra & functions, Trigonometry, Exponentials, Differentiation, Numerical Methods C4: Partial fractions, Coordinate Geometry, Binomial Expansion, Differentiation, integration, Vectors M2: Kinematics, Centre of Mass, Work and Energy Collisions, Statics of a rigid body Who the course is for The course is suitable for students interested in furthering their knowledge of Mathematics, and is invaluable for many HE/Degree courses especially Engineering, Accounting and Teaching. How you will study The course is delivered by a variety of teaching methods. How you will be assessed Module exams are taken in January and June. There is no course work in any of the modules. Qualification Title AS/A2 Level in Mathematics Course Length One year for the AS Level. Two years for the full A Level. Course Availability The course is available at the following campus(es): Rhos-on-Sea Rhyl Abergele Entry Guidelines The entry requirement is success at AS Level MathematicsThe standard entry requirement of a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above applies. A minimum of a grade B in mathematics via the Higher Tier is essential. Assuming you attain a grade in the AS Mathematics course then you can upgrade to the A2 course. This course is best suited to students who prefer a steady workload. Students will be required to practice techniques learnt between lessons.
