AS/A2 Further Mathematics Why study Further Mathematics? Some students know that they plan to apply for a Mathematics or related course at University so enrol for Further Mathematics. The course includes a number of additional topics and raises students awareness of different aspects of Mathematics in preparation for higher education. What will I study on this course? Decision mathematics develops the ideas used in modern technology. Statistics is the study of data. Mechanics is the study of moving objects. How is this course assessed? There is no coursework. Each unit is assessed by a 1 hour examination. What kind of student will do well on this course? Students must be competent in manipulating algebraic equations.They should enjoy interpreting graphs.
