Apprenticeship : Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2 Is this course for you? The Beauty Therapy apprenticeship offers many exciting possibilities for career progression. Beauty Therapy, isnt just about glamour, as it requires hard work and dedication. The hours are sometimes unsociable, but the rewards more than make up for it. Students will study mandatory units, which include the improvement and maintenance of skin condition, enhancing the appearance of eyebrows and providing manicure treatment. How long is the course? 1 Year When you will be attending. 1 day per week in College. When does the course start? September What's the course about? The units followed by this qualification:- 'Core' Mandatory Units (all units must be achieved) and a selection of other optional units e.g. Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety. Promote additional products or services to clients. Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work. Fulfil salon reception duties. Improve and maintain facial skin condition. Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashed. Provide make-up treatment. Remove hair using waxing techniques. Provide manicure treatment. Provide pedicure treatment. Level 2 Employment Rights & Responsibilities. These units may be subject to change. Is work experience a necessary part of the course? Candidates must be working within the industry. How will you be assessed? Oral questions, written tests, assignments and practical observations, both in College and in the work place. What qualification will you achieve? NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy What can this course lead to? Level 3 Hair or Beauty Level 23 Advanced Nail Techniques Holistics - Foundation Degree - upon successful application and interview Business Studies How much will the course cost you? Entry Requirements Entry requirements vary for each level and course. Most apprenticeships are accessible with 2 GCSE at Grade Ds or above including Maths and English. Candidates will be considered on an individual basis where these requirements are not met, a high standard of communications skills is also required. All applicants will have an initial assessment and a placement within a salon. Good manual dexterity and a high interest in the beauty industry. Able to comply to work ethics Good customer care Good personal hygiene and presentation. Candidates for Advanced Apprenticeships require specific GCSE passes at Grade C or completion of an Apprenticeship in the same subject, or an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
