Course Description

Modern aircraft and their avionic systems and on board equipment, are subjected to a harsh and complex electromagnetic environment. This two day course will study in detail the effects of high intensity radiated fields(HIRF), on-board electromagnetic environments and lightning strikes on the internal and external aircraft systems and its airframe. The principles are applicable to both fixed wing and rotary aircraft for civil and military applications. Delegates will be provided with the knowledge that they need, to ensure that the equipment and systems that they design for aircraft applications will be in line with the requirements for certification. This course is both suitable for both aerospace equipment designers and also aircraft manufacturers providing an introduction to the art of EMC and lightning strike design for aerospace equipment. The course explains the EMC, High Intensity Radiated Fields and indirect effects of lightning environments and provides an understanding of the standards related to these phenomena.
