Course Description

The programme is a Postgraduate Certificate within the MA Advanced Education Practice. Itprovides an opportunity for participants to develop their leadership and management capabilities, to develop their understanding of relevant theory, research and practice, and to enhance their ability to contribute to organisational effectiveness. It consists of two core modules: Professional Development for Leadership (20 credits) Leadership and Management in Education (40 credits) Participants who successfully complete this programme should develop enhanced knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of educational leadership and management. The programme has strong links with schools, colleges, LEAs and other universities. It differs from many other MA programmes in its focus on developing educational practice and in bringing together professionals from a range of educational sectors. About the School Welcome to the Faculty of Education Community and Leisure which has provided Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for educational professionals in Merseyside and across the North West region for over 25 years. Our CPD programmes give experienced professionals working in education and training the opportunity to develop and reflect on their practice, enhancing job satisfaction and improving the outcomes for children and young people. The Faculty is also involved in national and regional CPD networks as well as major educational initiatives.
