Course Description

The programme is a Postgraduate Certificate within the MA Advanced Education Practice. It consists of one core module*: ? The Identification and Teaching of Young People with Dyslexia (40 credits) plus one module from a range of options including*: ? Teaching Young People with SEN (20 credits) ? Children with BESD: Prevention and Response (20 credits) ? Autistic Spectrum Disorder in the Mainstream Context (20 credits) ? BESD & Mental Health (20 credits) ? Researching Professional Practice (20 credits) Participants who successfully complete this programme should develop enhanced knowledge and understanding of working with children and young people with dyslexia. The programme has strong links with schools, colleges, LEAs and other universities. It differs from many other MA programmes in its focus on enhancing educational practice and in bringing together professionals from a range of educational sectors.
