Course Description

Access to A Levels course programme This programme is for those who wish to move on to A Level or IB and who have not got the required number of GCSEs at grade C or above. For example, the home-educated, those from Steiner schools, overseas students and those who have just missed out from entry onto A Level courses. What does the programme involve? This intensive, one-year course is designed to prepare you for A Levels and to give you sufficient GCSEs to qualify for entry. You will have a tutor who will specialise in supporting you throughout your study. What will I study? Core elements: English, History, Maths, Psychology plus Law UNLESS you already have these. Optional elements include: (subject to availablilty) Human Physiology, Photography, ICT, Applied Science. Frequently Asked Questions I got 'D's at GCSE - can I do the course? No, you must have at least three 'C's in designated subjects. I got 'C's in PE, Art, Drama and Design - can I do the course? No, as above. You might want to consider our BTEC programme instead. I am home-educated and have no GCSEs - can I do the course? This course is for people like you! You will be assessed by our admissions team and, if they credit you with being at the right standard, you will be offered a place. I want to do BTEC Art or Business - is this the right course for me? No, there is a First Diploma in Business and a specialised Diploma in Creative Arts. This information is believed to be correct.
