Our ACCA Professional Level programme is designed to prepare you to complete the ACCA Professional Level papers in the quickest time possible. It can help you build towards long-term success, with both financial and management accounting skills, for a variety of roles in practice or commerce.

If you have passed the ACCA Fundamentals Level, or have exemptions because of your undergraduate study, this approach will suit your path towards getting
ACCA exam-qualified.

Having ACCA exam-qualified status is an important requirement towards becoming an ACCA Affiliate member. In addition, you will also need to pass background checks and complete an online ethics module.

Course Content

The Professional Level is divided into two modules: Essentials and Options. All learners have to pass both papers in the Essentials module. While the Options module contains a choice of four papers, from which you must complete two.

Essentials module

These two exams build upon the technical skills from the Fundamentals Level (Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills modules). They explore advanced professional skills, techniques and values that are required to act as an expert accountant in an advisory or consultancy role at senior level.

  • Strategic Business Leader (SBL - 30 credits): An innovative case study module on governance and making strategic decisions. By using real-world scenarios students will develop technical, professional and ethics skills in the evaluation and presentation of their responses.
  • Strategic Business Reporting (SBR - 30 credits): Develop the skills needed to speak the language of business, and the ability to explain reports and the impacts of transactions to a variety of stakeholders.

Options module - Choose two from four modules (30 credits per module)

This level builds on your existing technical knowledge. It will explore advanced professional skills, techniques and values that are required at a senior level by accountants working in an advisory or consultancy role.

  • Advanced Financial Management (AFM): Gives an understanding of what is expected of a senior financial executive regarding the financial management of an organisation.
  • Advanced Performance Management (APM): Teaches how to evaluate business performance through the application of strategic management accounting techniques.
  • Advanced Taxation (AT): How to apply relevant knowledge and skills gained from Taxation paper (Fundamental Level) to evaluate the impact of major taxes, focusing on the financial decisions of both individuals and organisations.
  • Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA): Teaches how to obtain, plan, control and conclude both audit and assurance engagements.

Entry Requirements

Those wishing to apply for this programme will require:

  • To be at least 18 years and over at the start of the course.

You should have passed:

  • BPP University's Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance [ACCA Route]; OR
  • ACCA Knowledge and Skills paper (AB-FM) passes or exemptions; OR
  • An undergraduate degree which provides exemptions for the ACCA Fundamentals Level (Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills), AB to FM papers (previously named F1 to F9)

If you do not meet the entry requirements, but have other qualifications or work experience, get in touch so we can review your options.

English entry requirements for international students

If English is not your first language and you do not hold an honours degree that was delivered in English, you will be required to provide proof of your ability – for reading, writing, listening and speaking in English.

The minimum entry requirements are an overall IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent, with no components lower than 6.0. For details of other accepted qualifications, please click here.

If you have an overall IELTS entry score of 6.0 or equivalent, with a minimum of 6.0 in writing, you will have to attend a Pre-Sessional English course. This will help you achieve the exit score at 6.5 overall - with no components lower than 6.0.

If you have the minimum overall IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent, with a minimum of 6.0 in any component, you will be required to attend our In-Sessional Academic Skills classes. This takes place during the first term of studies at no additional cost.

If you meet the entry criteria but do not have the necessary English language skills, we can offer you a Pre-Sessional English course prior to starting your programme. For further information, please visit our English Language Support section.
