Course Description

Emergency First Aid at Work Proving very popular is the new Emergency First Aid at Work course, which was introduced in October 2009 by the HSE. The changes were aimed at making sure business?s could easily assess their first aid needs and appropriately train their staff in first aid. This course is aimed at companies who have assessed their first aid needs and placed themselves in the low risk category. Delegates successfully passing the course will be qualified First Aiders and awarded a certificate valid for 3 years. The HSE strongly recommend that your first aiders attend an annual refresher (3 Hours). On completion of training, successful delegates will be able to: ? Understand the role of the first-aider including reference to: ? the importance of preventing cross-infection; ? the need for recording incidents and actions; ? use of available equipment; ? Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in a range of emergency situations, including: ? administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure); ? administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation; ? administer first aid to a casualty who is choking; ? administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding; ? administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; ? provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries. ? ?90.00 per person VAT EXEMPT ?
