Course Description

Appointed Person Emergency First Aid (1 Day) The Health and Safety Executive require employers to carry out a first aid risk assessment where there is more than one employee in a workplace location. Resus can offer you free advice on your first aid requirements, with a personal visit available for larger businesses in Central Scotland. Many smaller businesses find that they do not need a fully qualified first aider (first aid at work trained). In this case they may require an appointed person to deal with an emergency until qualified help arrives. The appointed persons emergency first aid course is recognised by the HSE and satisfies this minimum requirement. The course is also popular with: Larger businesses who have appointed persons to assist and complement their fully qualified first aiders. Members of the public who are keen to get some good basic first aid skills. Businesses with employees working in small numbers away from their main base. The course gives people the tools to deal with an emergency until more qualified help arrives. Your trainer will focus on the most common life threatening emergencies- relating them to your particular workplace or environment. We like to add an element of realism to the course, passing on our own experiences in real life situations. Our aim is for you to do the RIGHT THING at the RIGHT TIME passing on the RIGHT INFORMATION to the Paramedics when they arrive. At the end of the course you will receive our standard service of two certificates (valid for three years), quick reference CPR guidelines, a special CPR face shield, and a comprehensive first aid manual covering the course material. Courses are available at any of our approved conference facilities throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK. Alternatively, for larger groups of employees, you may wish to hold a course at your own premises (must comply with HSE regulations.)
