A & AS Level - Culture & Communication Course Level: A & AS Level Duration: 2 Year Start date: September 2010 Qualification: A Level Communication and Culture Awarded By: AQA Introduction to course Communication and Culture gives students the opportunity to delve more deeply into issues like celebrity, designer brands, fashion, film and television, contemporary art and architecture and much more. It's a subject that's fun and enables students to use their own interests and passions to discuss many aspects of how people communicate with each other. Course Details Culture is a jigsaw puzzle of different influences that come from your family upbringing, education, where you live, your ethnicity, your interests, your health and how you present yourself. The topics students cover in writing and mixed media presentations including shopping as retail therapy, popular music, fashion and graffiti. Where the course lead A level or AS level Communication and Culture is an excellent qualification for entry into a wide variety of humanities based university courses. It is also a good preparation for careers in the media. This course combines well with Media, English, Sociology, Psychology Course Assessment The sourse is 50% coursework plus one hour and a half examination at both AS and A2 levels. Coursework includes written 'readings' and a single audio-visual presentation.
