It is designed both for people seeking careers as professional economists in government or industry and for people seeking basic training for PhD entry. Our MSc programmes include a very special (and very rare) feature. This a special module in FINANCIAL MARKET TRADING, run in conjunction with Chisholm Roth & Company Ltd. The module provides initial training for careers in, or associated with, the stock exchange dealing rooms of brokers and financial intermediaries. It is also of significant general interest to students of finance because it strongly reinforces the theoretical knowledge gained through other modules in a very practical and memorable way. The module is organised around the simulation software and the training programmes provided by Chisholm Roth to many financial companies in the City of London and internationally. The MSc includes a research training element which is satisfied by a dissertation on an approved research topic. The MSc in Economics and Finance is one of four related MSc programmes. This group also includes: MSc in Financial Economics MSc in International Finance and Economics MSc in Monetary Economics.
