Overview

The Royal is a unique place where students from the West Midlands, Great Britain and around the world meet and develop lasting friendships. The curriculum is comprehensive in its subject matter but we are also very keen on our activities programme. The new swimming pool and dance theatre are significant attractions alongside our recently completed ‘floodlit Astro surface' and our tennis courts. Basketball and football play a significant part in our sports programme for the boys in winter and the girls excel at netball, gymnastics and dance. Our boarders enjoy a wide variety of activities and we often have many day trips ranging from ‘Go-carting' and ‘Paint-balling' to trips to the theatre. We are committed to helping students achieve both academic and personal success. The pupils are supported by a dedicated team of professional teachers and assistants. We strive to help young people achieve that which they may have thought impossible. Our work in the classroom is complimented by our efforts in the Combined Cadet Force, the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and many other external initiatives designed to give young people the opportunity to develop leadership and practical skills. Our extensive after school activities programme ranges from electronics to ballet, fencing to photography and gymnastics to gardening to name but a few.At the Royal School you can expect to be nurtured and given the opportunity to explore your gifts and talents from the highly thought of Nursery through to the multi-faceted Sixth Form.
