Overview

The Board of Management is responsible for all aspects of corporate governance of the College. The Board sets the strategic direction of the College. The Board is also responsible for the vision and values of the College.The duties of Board members are set out in the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992 and the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 2005.The Board of Management adheres to financial memoranda, a code of ethical behaviour and the Nolan's Seven principles of public life. All Board members complete a register of interests and update this regularly. This can be found on the College website.The Board of Management has 16 members including two staff members, a student member, a member nominated by Glasgow City Council and the College Principal. The Board has also co-opted five members to committees of the Board. From time to time the Board advertises vacancies for its membership.The Board of Management meets four times per year and each of its committees meets four times per year. Each member of the Board is a member of at least two committees.As well as attending Board and committee meetings, members attend award ceremonies, graduations, drama and arts events and, in general, take a close interest and involvement with the life of the College.
