Hollygirt School was founded in 1877 and has been established in Elm Avenue since 1913 when it moved from the house with the holly hedge at 82 Addison Street, hence the name Hollygirt! Elm Avenue, a quiet tree lined avenue off Mansfield Road, Nottingham, is convenient for the city centre, ten minutes walk away.Garfield House, the main Senior School building was built in 1881, and later became a convent. It has been changed internally in many ways since the early days but still retains the beautiful staircase and stained glass window which former pupils remember.
