Overview

We are pleased to announce that as of 1 June 2011, we have become the Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education. We believe that this new title will communicate even more clearly to the public that we are, first and foremost, an independent and international research-led college of higher education in Dundee, Scotland, working in the university sector to provide an excellent centre for teaching and research of the highest standard. For more information, click here.We offer postgraduate programmes (taught Masters and PhD), which are validated by the University of Aberdeen through the Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Graduate School at the Al-Maktoum College.Our aim is the promotion of intelligent debate and understanding of Islam and the role of Muslims in the contemporary world. We are a place of knowledge and reflection on the issues facing a diverse and multicultural world in the twenty-first century.In addition our English Language unit offers English Language Courses for learners intending to study in higher education, as well as for those wishing to improve their general English skills.We are an independent, not-for-profit educational charity and so we are one of the small number of private colleges of higher education in the UK. Our Patron and Sponsor is HH Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, whose vision for multiculturalism is at the heart of Al-Maktoum College.
